CUNY-IIE’s UndocuEdu held a virtual workshop titled "Assessing College Inclusivity.”
This workshop was designed for students in the process of evaluating colleges and universities but are unsure about their inclusivity for undocumented students.
During this interactive workshop, students explored crucial aspects of college inclusivity for undocumented students, equipping them with the necessary tools to make well-informed decisions about their future educational endeavors. This event was also open to students in two-year colleges or who are pursuing education as a major. Our agenda encompassed:
Essential questions to pose during college tours and interviews
Identification of green flags indicating genuine inclusivity
Evaluation of campus resources, policies, programs, and culture
Strategies for establishing connections with undocumented student groups
Steps to be taken if encountering discrimination as an undocumented student
