Immigration in Elementary Schools
This professional development module supports educators in developing stronger relationships with immigrant students and families and collaborating with community-based partners to understand and advocate for their needs.
The module also focuses on using children’s literature to discuss current immigration issues in a developmentally appropriate way. The goal of the following professional development module is to help elementary school educators hone their skills to:
Understand and develop relationships with their students and families
Learn about current immigration issues - Use literature to teach about immigration
Collaborate with community-based organizations
Advocate for immigrant students
