Supporting School Counselors

CUNY-IIE invites public school counselors across New York State to apply for its Spring 2026 professional learning workshop.

This opportunity is designed to support counseling practices with immigrant and multilingual students.

In these workshops, counselors will explore resources that can inform their work with their school's immigrant community and staff.  They will also learn about practices implemented by school counselors who work in varied settings with immigrant-origin students and families, and they will create an action plan for their own school community.

Participants who complete the workshop requirements will receive a $200 stipend. The program includes two required synchronous sessions and approximately three hours of asynchronous independent work.

Participant Requirements:

  • Must be employed as a school counselor in a New York State public middle or high school.

  • Must be able to attend both synchronous sessions and complete all required activities.
