This professional development module provides hands-on opportunities for all school personnel to learn how to support their students socio-emotionally through the use of trauma-informed practices.

This module provides an overview of trauma-informed practices with a focus on immigrant-origin students.

Participants will learn ways to nurture the social-emotional learning pathways of students who may have endured trauma as they heal and integrate into their new communities. To that end, this module addresses the following themes: 

  • Overview of Trauma-Informed Practice

  • Recognizing Trauma: Supporting Immigrant Students 

  • Strategies for Supporting Students Who Have Endured Trauma
